DHIKR OF SALAH – STEP BY STEP
🧼 1. Dua Before Starting Salah (Optional Sunnah)
After Takbeer but before Surah Al-Fatiha
Arabic:
سُبْحَانَكَ اللَّهُمَّ وَبِحَمْدِكَ، وَتَبَارَكَ اسْمُكَ، وَتَعَالَى جَدُّكَ، وَلَا إِلَٰهَ غَيْرُكَTransliteration:
Subḥānaka Allāhumma wa bi-ḥamdika, wa tabāraka-ismuka, wa taʿālā jadduka, wa lā ilāha ghayrukTranslation:
"Glory is to You, O Allah, and praise; blessed is Your Name, and exalted is Your Majesty; and there is no god but You."Hadith:
Narrated by Aisha رضي الله عنها:"The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to begin the prayer with this supplication."

🧎 2. Recitation of Surah Al-Fatiha (Compulsory in Every Rak'ah)
Arabic:
الْـحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ...Transliteration:
Al-ḥamdu lillāhi Rabbil-‘ālamīn...Translation:
"All praise is due to Allah, Lord of the worlds..."
— [Surah Al-Fatiha 1:1–7]Meaning:
Affirming Allah’s mercy, majesty, and our servitude and need for His guidance.Hadith:
“There is no prayer for the one who does not recite the Opening of the Book.”

📖 3. Any Other Surah or Verses (After Al-Fatiha)
Example: Surah Al-Ikhlas
Arabic:
قُلْ هُوَ اللَّهُ أَحَدٌ...Translation:
"Say: He is Allah, One..."
— [Surah Al-Ikhlas 112]Note: Optional but Sunnah in first two Rak’ahs.
⬇️ 4. Rukūʿ – Bowing Dhikr
Arabic:
سُبْحَانَ رَبِّيَ الْعَظِيمِ
(3 times)Transliteration:
Subḥāna Rabbiyal-‘AẓīmTranslation:
"Glory is to my Lord, the Most Great."Hadith:
“When the Prophet ﷺ bowed, he used to say this three times.”

⬆️ 5. Qawmah – Standing After Rukūʿ
Arabic:
سَمِعَ اللَّهُ لِمَنْ حَمِدَهُ
رَبَّنَا وَلَكَ الْحَمْدُTransliteration:
Samiʿallāhu liman ḥamidah,
Rabbana wa laka al-ḥamdTranslation:
"Allah hears the one who praises Him.
Our Lord, to You is all praise."Hadith:

🧎♂️ 6. Sujūd – Prostration Dhikr
Arabic:
سُبْحَانَ رَبِّيَ الْأَعْلَى
(3 times)Transliteration:
Subḥāna Rabbiyal-A‘lāTranslation:
"Glory is to my Lord, the Most High."Hadith:
“The Prophet ﷺ used to say in his prostration: ‘Subhana Rabbiyal-A‘la’ three times.”

🧎 7. Between Two Sujoods – Sitting Dhikr
Arabic:
رَبِّ اغْفِرْ لِي، رَبِّ اغْفِرْ لِيTransliteration:
Rabbighfir lī, Rabbighfir līTranslation:
"My Lord, forgive me. My Lord, forgive me."Hadith:
— [Sunan Abi Dawood]
🧎♂️ 8. Tashahhud (Attahiyyat) – After 2nd and Last Rak’ah
Arabic:
التَّحِيَّاتُ لِلَّهِ وَالصَّلَوَاتُ وَالطَّيِّبَاتُ...Transliteration:
At-taḥiyyātu lillāhi waṣ-ṣalawātu waṭ-ṭayyibātu...Translation:
"All greetings, prayers, and goodness are for Allah. Peace be upon you, O Prophet..."Hadith:
“When the Prophet ﷺ sat in prayer, he recited the Tashahhud.”

🤲 9. Salawat (Durood Ibrahim) – After Tashahhud
Arabic:
اللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَىٰ مُحَمَّدٍ وَعَلَىٰ آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ...Transliteration:
Allāhumma ṣalli ʿalā Muḥammad wa ʿalā āli Muḥammad...Translation:
"O Allah, send blessings upon Muhammad and the family of Muhammad..."Hadith:
— [Sahih Bukhari & Muslim]
🤲 10. Final Dua Before Ending (Optional)
Arabic:
اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ عَذَابِ جَهَنَّمَ... (etc.)Translation:
"O Allah! I seek refuge with You from the punishment of the Hellfire..."Hadith:
“The Prophet ﷺ would seek refuge in 4 things before ending the prayer.”
— [Sahih Muslim]
🔚 11. Tasleem – Ending the Salah
Arabic:
السَّلَامُ عَلَيْكُمْ وَرَحْمَةُ اللَّهِ
(Turn right and then left)Translation:
"Peace and Mercy of Allah be upon you."Hadith:
“The Prophet ﷺ used to say Tasleem to the right and to the left.”
