QUR’AN VERSES ABOUT JEALOUSY & ENVY
1. Surah Al-Falaq (113:5)
وَمِن شَرِّ حَاسِدٍ إِذَا حَسَدَ
“And from the evil of the envier when he envies.”
🔹 Meaning: Jealousy isn’t just harmful to others — it damages the soul of the one who carries it.2. Surah Taha (20:131)
وَلَا تَمُدَّنَّ عَيْنَيْكَ إِلَىٰ مَا مَتَّعْنَا بِهِ أَزْوَاجًا مِّنْهُمْ
“Do not stretch your eyes toward what We have given some of them to enjoy...”
🔹 Meaning: What others have is a test for them, just like what you have is a test for you. Your rizq (provision) is perfect for you.3. Surah An-Nisa (4:32)
وَلَا تَتَمَنَّوْا مَا فَضَّلَ اللَّهُ بِهِ بَعْضَكُمْ عَلَىٰ بَعْضٍ
“Do not wish for what Allah has favored some of you over others.”
🔹 Meaning: Wishing for someone else's blessings blinds you to your own.🌿 HADITH TO CURE JEALOUSY
1. Jealousy Destroys Deeds
“Beware of jealousy, for indeed it destroys good deeds like fire destroys wood.”
— Abu Dawood🔹 Meaning: Even if you pray, fast, and do good — envy silently erases your efforts. Protect your heart.
2. Two Types of Envy Are Halal
“There is no envy except in two cases: a man whom Allah has given Qur’an and he recites it… and a man whom Allah has given wealth and he spends it in charity.”
— Sahih al-Bukhari🔹 Meaning: If you must envy — envy goodness, not glamour.
3. Gratitude Prevents Envy
“Look at those below you (in worldly matters), and do not look at those above you. That is more likely to keep you from belittling the favors of Allah.”
— Sahih Muslim🔹 Meaning: Jealousy grows when you compare up. Contentment grows when you look down and say Alhamdulillah.
🕊️ DUAS TO CLEANSE JEALOUSY
1. Seek Protection from the Evil of Envy
اللَّهُمَّ طَهِّرْ قَلْبِي مِنَ الْحَسَدِ وَاجْعَلْنِي رَاضِيًا بِمَا قَسَمْتَ لِي
“O Allah, purify my heart from jealousy and make me content with what You’ve given me.”
2. Turn Envy Into Dua
“Ya Allah, bless them more, and grant me what’s best for me — in this world and the next.”
🔹 Instead of feeling bitter, ask Allah to bless them more — and open doors for you, your way.
3. Say This When You Feel Jealous:
🕊️ “Ya Allah, protect me from the disease of envy. Let me be inspired, not insecure. Let me admire, not compete. And let me always prefer what You chose for me.”
💛 REMEMBER THIS:
Jealousy is a test of the heart — not a flaw in your faith.
What’s written for others will never take away what’s written for you.
The happiest people are those who say:
“Alhamdulillah — I have what Allah chose for me.”
