Duas for Children – From the Qur’an & Sunnah
“Wealth and children are [but] adornment of the worldly life…”
(Surah Al-Kahf 18:46)Children are a trust (Amanah) from Allah. As parents or guardians, making Dua is one of the greatest gifts we can offer for their protection, righteousness, and success in both worlds.
🌿 1. Dua for Righteous and Pious Children
🔹 Arabic:
رَبِّ هَبْ لِي مِنَ الصَّالِحِينَ
🔹 Transliteration:
Rabbi hab li min as-salihin
🔹 Translation:
“My Lord, grant me [a child] from among the righteous.”

🔹 Arabic:
رَبَّنَا هَبْ لَنَا مِنْ أَزْوَاجِنَا وَذُرِّيَّاتِنَا قُرَّةَ أَعْيُنٍ وَاجْعَلْنَا لِلْمُتَّقِينَ إِمَامًا
🔹 Transliteration:
Rabbana hab lana min azwajina wa dhurriyyatina qurrata a‘yun, waj‘alna lil-muttaqina imama.
🔹 Translation:
“Our Lord, grant us from our spouses and offspring the comfort of our eyes and make us leaders for the righteous.”

🛡️ 3. Dua for Children’s Protection (from every evil)
🔹 Arabic:
أُعِيذُكُمَا بِكَلِمَاتِ اللَّهِ التَّامَّةِ، مِنْ كُلِّ شَيْطَانٍ وَهَامَّةٍ، وَمِنْ كُلِّ عَيْنٍ لَامَّةٍ
🔹 Transliteration:
U‘eedhukumā bikalimātillāhit-tāmmati min kulli shayṭānin wa hāmmatin wa min kulli ‘aynin lāmmah.
🔹 Translation:
“I seek protection for you in the perfect words of Allah, from every devil, harmful thing, and from every evil eye.”

🧠 5. Dua for Knowledge and Understanding
🔹 Arabic:
رَّبِّ زِدْنِي عِلْمًا
🔹 Transliteration:
Rabbi zidni ‘ilma
🔹 Translation:
“My Lord, increase me in knowledge.”

“O Allah, instill the love of Salah, Qur’an, and the Sunnah in my children’s hearts. Make them among those who establish prayer.”

رَبِّ هَبْ لِي مِن لَّدُنكَ ذُرِّيَّةً طَيِّبَةً ۖ إِنَّكَ سَمِيعُ الدُّعَاءِ
🔹 Transliteration:
Rabbi hab li min ladunka dhurriyyatan tayyibah. Innaka sami‘ud-du‘aa.

“My Lord, grant me from Yourself a good offspring. Indeed, You are the Hearer of supplication.”

“O Allah, make my child a Hafidh of Your Book, a caller to Islam, and a leader of the righteous, firm in Iman and love for You.”
