QUR’AN VERSES ABOUT REGRET & FORGIVENESS
1. Surah Az-Zumar (39:53)
ُْูู َูุง ุนِุจَุงุฏَِู ุงَّูุฐَِูู ุฃَุณْุฑَُููุง ุนََٰูู ุฃَُููุณِِูู ْ َูุง ุชََْููุทُูุง ู ِู ุฑَّุญْู َุฉِ ุงَِّููู
“Say: O My servants who have wronged themselves, do not despair of the mercy of Allah. Indeed, Allah forgives all sins.”
๐น Meaning: Even if you’ve made many mistakes, Allah still wants you. He never gives up on you, even if you’ve given up on yourself.
2. Surah Al-Furqan (25:70)
ุฅَِّูุง ู َู ุชَุงุจَ َูุขู ََู َูุนَู َِู ุนَู ًَูุง ุตَุงِูุญًุง َูุฃَُٰูููุฆَِู ُูุจَุฏُِّู ุงَُّููู ุณَِّูุฆَุงุชِِูู ْ ุญَุณََูุงุชٍ
“Except for those who repent, believe, and do righteous deeds — for them Allah will replace their bad deeds with good ones.”
๐น Meaning: Allah can turn your sins into good deeds — your worst mistakes can become reasons for reward if you truly return to Him.
3. Surah An-Nisa (4:110)
َูู َู َูุนْู َْู ุณُูุกًุง ุฃَْู َูุธِْูู ْ َْููุณَُู ุซُู َّ َูุณْุชَุบِْูุฑِ ุงََّููู َูุฌِุฏِ ุงََّููู ุบَُููุฑًุง ุฑَّุญِูู ًุง
“Whoever does evil or wrongs himself but then seeks forgiveness from Allah will find Allah Forgiving and Merciful.”
๐น Meaning: Even if you harmed your own soul — the moment you seek forgiveness, Allah is waiting to forgive.
๐ฟ HADITH FOR REGRET AND REPENTANCE
1. The Prophet ๏ทบ Said:
“Remorse is repentance.”
— Ibn Majah (Hassan)
๐น Meaning: Just feeling true regret from your heart is a sign that Allah is guiding you. That feeling is a gift, not a punishment.
2. Hadith Qudsi – Allah’s Mercy Never Stops
“O son of Adam, if your sins reached the clouds of the sky, then you asked forgiveness from Me, I would forgive you...”
— Tirmidhi, Hasan
๐น Meaning: No sin is too big. No past is too ugly. Allah is always bigger than your mistakes.
3. Angels Record Even Your Regret
“When a servant commits a sin, the angel is told: Delay writing it down for six hours. If he repents, don’t record it. If not, write it down as one sin.”
— Tabarani (authentic)
๐น Meaning: Allah gives you time to return — even your regret can erase your record.
๐ธ DUAS TO SAY WHEN YOU FEEL REGRET
1. Say This Powerful Istighfar
ุฑَุจِّ ุงุบِْูุฑْ ِูู َูุชُุจْ ุนَََّูู، ุฅََِّูู ุฃَْูุชَ ุงูุชََّّูุงุจُ ุงูุฑَّุญِูู ُ
“My Lord, forgive me and accept my repentance. Truly, You are the Accepter of repentance, the Most Merciful.”
2. The Prophet’s ๏ทบ Sayyid al-Istighfar (Master of Forgiveness)
ุงَُّูููู َّ ุฃَْูุชَ ุฑَุจِّู، َูุง ุฅََِูู ุฅَِّูุง ุฃَْูุชَ...
“O Allah, You are my Lord. There is no god but You. You created me and I am Your servant...”— Sahih al-Bukhari
๐น Whoever says this sincerely and dies that day/night, enters Jannah.
3. Speak to Allah From the Heart:
๐️ “Ya Allah, I regret my mistakes. I can’t erase the past, but I want to return to You. I feel ashamed, but I know You are Merciful. Forgive me. Heal me. Make me better than I was.”
๐ REMEMBER THIS WHEN YOU FEEL REGRET:
